This isn't the first time the worldwide famous rock music group has made an appearance in a music video game. They earlier starred in their own edition for 2009's "Guitar Hero: Van Halen," the third band featured in the Neversoft music rhythm game after Aerosmith and Metallica.

"Panama" will be the band's first introduction to Harmonix's "Rock Band" franchise.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer group will embark on their 2015 North American Tour shortly, beginning in Aug. 23 in Pennsylvania, and ending on October 4 in California.

Van Halen will be joining a growing set list of classic rock performers, including Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, and The Who, as well as modern acts like Bruno Mars, Fall Out Boy, and St. Vincent, who will be featured in "Rock Band 4."

Harmonix has also announced other big-name bands will be making an appearance, including The Outfield, Rush, Van Morrison, and Heart.

The upcoming game is Harmonix's return to the music genre in nearly three years, after rhythm titles slowly fell from popularity.

"Rock Band 4" will be putting emphasis on social interactions, while drawing away from music instruction, and introducing new features and downloadable content.

Reportedly featuring a top-tier soundtrack, having recently added 17 new tracks, "Rock Band 4" will launch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 6.
