'Rocket League' Boxed Edition Coming to Europe, Africa on June 24 and U.S. on July 5
The independently-developed sports-action game "Rocket League" is getting a physical release with a special Boxed Edition. Gamers in Europe and Africa will be seeing the edition earlier than those in the U.S. when it arrives on June 24, while those in the U.S. will be seeing it a bit later on July 5, according to a report in Engadget.
The game first released digital copies for the PS4 and PC last year and for the Xbox One in February 2016. Its developer, Psyonix announced that a physical edition was making its way to the market soon. The game was recently awarded Best Design at the 2016 Game Developers Choice Awards, Engadget reported.
According to another report in iDigital Times, Psyonix and publisher 505 Games said that the special boxed edition will not only include all previously released DLC for the game but will also bring new content in the form of new cars that players can choose from.
Tech Times also shared some details about the four new Battle-Cars. In one of the three DLC packs, "Chaos Run," two new cars called Grog and Ripper will be included. Each of the two cars will be getting two new Paint Types, 2 new Wheels, 6 unique Decals, two new Rocket Trails, three new Toppers and three new Antennas.
The other DLC, "Supersonic Fury" will also include two new Battle-Cars called Takumi and Dominus, which comes with two new Paint Types, two new Rocket Boosts, three new Antennas, five new Wheels and six unique Decals.
The last DLC, "Revenge of the Battle-Cars" includes new but classic Battle-Cards called Scarab and Zippy, which also gets new Paint Types, new Wheels and others.
Aside from the new content, the game is also among the first few console games that will allow cross-platform play between Xbox One players and PC players.
