'Rocket League' Season 1: February 2016 Patch to Bring Rewards

Psyonix's physics-based vehicle soccer game "Rocket League" will soon reach the end of its first season. With it, the developer has announced that a new update and rewards are coming players' way next month.

The developer took to "Rocket League's" Steam page to announce details about the game's first 2016 update. Psyonix will be giving out rewards to competitive players, as well as introduce tiered item drops in its next update that is scheduled to release next month.

Players who reach "Bronze" Division or higher in the game's Ranked Play will be eligible for the rewards that will arrive at the end of the season. These rewards include limited edition crowns of bronze, silver, gold, and platinum, which can be used as toppers for players' Battle-Cars. The crown variant that players will receive depends on their highest division rank on any ladder at the time the season ends.

The February update will also bring with it Item Qualities. These items have a "Quality" tag and color. Grey represents common or stock items, green is for premium items that come from paid DLC, orange is for limited items that come from seasonal or limited time events, and a new item quality for Uncommon will be designated by light blue color.

Uncommon items include new toppers and antennas that can be found after completing online-only matches. The drop rate of Uncommon items is not fixed. A player's chance of getting these items increases the longer they play and resets once they've found one Uncommon item.

All these rewards will be available when "Rocket League" season 1 ends. Psyonix announced that "Rocket League" season 1 will end with the rollout of the February 2016 update.

As for those players who are looking forward to the game's season 2, Psyonix will reveal details of Competitive Play changes on Friday, Jan. 22.
