Rocketown Records Prepares For Holiday Season
With Christmas time never far out of mind, Rocketown records, founded in 96 by Michael W. Smith and Don Donahue, are releasing the compilation album Gloria and have scheduled a December tour to promote it. The Gloria project is finished, and it's everything I hoped it would be...cohesive, celebratory, thought provokinga wonderful musical addition to the story of Jesus and the rhythm of the season, says Donahue, who is also President of Rocketown. (As posted on ccmbuzz.com)
The album, produced by Charlie Peacock and Scott Dente, is scheduled to be released September 28th and features both renewed versions of holiday classics and original works. Artists featured on the CD include W. Smith along with Alathea, Christine Dente, Shaun Groves, Wayne Kirkpatrick, George Rowe, Taylor Sorensen, Watermark, and the newest addition to the Rocketown lineup, Amy Stroup. The collaboration also sees guest appearances by Amy Grant, Cindy Morgan, and Jars of Clays Steve Mason.
And in the true spirit of reunion, the cover art for the album will be done by Jimmy Abegg, who did the artwork for Rocketowns first compilation CD, Exodus. For more information about the tour, go to www.rocketownrecords.com/tour.php
