Rockies' Alex White Apologizes for DUI
Colorado Rockies pitcher Alex White has come out and publicly apologized for his drunk driving and subsequent arrest to his family teammates and fans.
White was stopped during a police checkpoint last Saturday. Police arrested White around 9:15 p.m. and he was released from jail at 10:50 p.m., The Denver Post reported.
"It's very unfortunate and I'm completely embarrassed," White, 23, told reporters. "It was very stupid, and I let down a lot of people, most important, my family, this organization and the fans. That's not the type of person I am."

White explained that he was on his way back to his apartment from a private gathering. White failed a road-sobriety and Breathalyzer test.
White stated that officers did not disclose the results of his sobriety test but said it was above the legal limit of .08 percent.
Rockies General Manager Dan O'Dowd explained that the younger pitcher will learn from this mishap.
"The embarrassment he caused himself ... he's very close to his mother and father, so I think there has been enough punishment dealt on this one," O'Dowd said.
He continued: "We have not seen any indication of this since we got the kid. He's been a choirboy, but he screwed up."
O'Dowd explained that he was proud of the way the youngster handled the situation.
"We'd be much more upset if the kid didn't handle it," O'Dowd said. "He walked right into [manager Jim Tracy's office] this morning and said, 'Here's what took place.'"
Tracy supported how White handled the arrest.
"The sincerity with which he talked to me, there's no doubt I trust this kid and I know that he was being completely sincere with anything and everything as far as what took place," Tracy said.
White, who is trying to earn a spot on the starting rotation, promised that he would never repeat his mistake.
