'Rogue One' First Trailer Has Arrived
The first trailer for the first "Star Wars" stand-alone movie "Rogue One" has been released, and it has contributed to the increasing excitement of Star Wars fans all over the world. If the trailer is any indication, the upcoming film will be as good as it looks. According to a report in Forbes, the trailer reflects Disney's commitment to bring back the glory of the franchise, in terms of revenue, while also "making it look good again."
The Forbes report also shared one observation about the trailer that some fans may have already caught on to. According to the report, one scene in the trailer featured one that seemed to have been shot, in all places, in the London Underground or the Tube. A little over one minute into the trailer, the lead character Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) is seen fleeing a group of pursuing Storm Troopers in what looks like a tunnel inside an Imperial warship. The report cited that it looked very much like the Tube's Canary Wharf station, with a few digital spruce-ups naturally.
According to another report in ABC News Australia, the film follows the story of a group of rebel spies who were first mentioned in "A New Hope," which said: "During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the Death Star, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet." Jyn Erso is said to be part of this group of spies as she is offered to go on a mission to find out "a major weapons test" that the Empire is planning. Along with Jyn Erso's appearance as what looked a very strong female character came speculation of how she may be connected to "The Force Awakens'" Rey, with fans saying that she may be Rey's mother.
Another report in The Independent mentioned the film's setting in the Star Wars timeline, which is between the events in "Episode III" and "Episode IV." Film production was reportedly done by February, which gives the studio enough time for post-production before it bows in theaters in December.
