Ronda Rousey News: Rousey set to headline UFC in Australia.

After an injury caused the main event to fall apart, Rousey's name has been called to save the big card.

The recent decision to make Ronda Rousey fight earlier than expected just shows how strong of a draw she is.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest names in mixed martial arts, the UFC women's bantamweight champion was slated to fight in January 2016 for UFC 195.

However, she will be fighting Holly Holm now on November 14 at Melbourne, Australia.

The fight between the two women will replace the original main event which was Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit battling for the UFC welterweight championship.

Rousey's star power is on full display as she is expected to help fill in the Etihad Stadium in Australia which seats 90,000 fans.

This should easily break the attendance record for an MMA event and given that Rousey is on the card, then it may actually be achieved.

The announcement was first released by UFC president Dana White, who tweeted about the fight and his excitement on what record they may break.

On Twitter, White claimed: "Rousey vs Holm is main event at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne. We'll break all-time attendance record for an MMA event."

Speaking to SportsCenter, White also expressed his confidence in Rousey's star power to fill the stadium, saying: "Ronda Rousey was huge for us down in Brazil, she was well received there. It did very well on pay-per-view here in the United States, and she's obviously a huge superstar for us. Australia is an important market for us, so we're going to bring her out there in our first real big stadium show, and we know she'll break the record."

Given the fact that Rousey's matches usually don't last that long, this gamble that the UFC is taking just shows how much of a global brand Rousey has become.

While Lawler against Condit have a lot of fight fans excited for the amount of violence and drama that it may bring, Rousey's near-perfect dominance in the division is treated in such a way that no one is expecting it to end.

Few people are giving Holm a chance against a more complete fighter in Rousey, but they are willing to pay the money to watch the champion go to work.
