Ronda Rousey Next Fight News 2015: 'Rowdy' happy being 'most drug-tested fighter in UFC

Reigning UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey does not mind being the most drug-tested fighter in the company roster.

Early this year, the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) and the UFC began working together with the hopes of tackling the prevalent issue regarding Performance Enhancing Drug use (PED) among fighters.

In recent reports made by the USADA through MMA Junkie, it was recorded that Rousey had already undergone two random drug tests for her upcoming fight against Holly Holm on November 15th. Holm had already been tested twice, as well.

The fight will be headlining UFC 193, the company's first event in Australia.

Now on her eighth consecutive title defense (the third one in nine months), Rousey says the drug-testing part no longer rattles her, given her experience in judo competitions in her teen years.

"When I was 14 years old, the kind of drug testing I got (in judo competitions) was I had to drop my pants all the way to the floor, lift my shirt all the way up, spin in a circle, and that person had to watch me pee in a cup. I had to drink eight bottles of water to do that the first time, because I was a little kid."

Concerns regarding Performance Enhancing Drug use have plagued the UFC in the past few years. A number of marquee fighters such as Chael Sonnen, Vitor Belfort, and Anderson Silva have all failed their respective drug tests and have been given sanctions.

Which is why Rousey has been up in arms about more stringent drug-testing policies. According to the 28-year old fighter, the main reason is to uphold the safety of all active fighters.

"The drug testing is extremely important – it keeps all of us safe," Rousey adds. "I have them to thank for keeping me safe and to keep the integrity in the sport. When USADA got involved with the UFC, I was so happy."
