Ronda Rousey Opponent Miesha Tate: 'I'm Going to Smash Her' Says Tate After Reality Show (VIDEO)
After working alongside one of her top rivals for a coming reality show, mixed martial arts fighter Ronda Rousey says she is afraid that the show may give off the wrong impression of her. Her opponent however, Miesha Tate, is less concerned about her reputation and more preoccupied with taking out her frustrations with Rousey in the ring.
Rousey will debut in the 18th season of "The Ultimate Fighter" on Wednesday. Prior to her appearance, the Ultimate Fighting Champion admitted that she was not exactly thrilled about doing the show.
"I think it was very good for the women's division, and I think it definitely needed to happen, but you couldn't pay me $10 million to do it again," Rousey told USA Today of the reality series.
During the 6-week filming period, Rousey was paired up against one of her biggest MMA rivals, Miesha Tate. Both Rousey and Tate were responsible for coaching a rising MMA fighter. But apparently tensions between Tate and Rousey were also raised, even though they were never scheduled to step foot into the same ring.
Unable to exact her vengeance on the show, Tate now says the she has plans to take Rousey down during their next scheduled fight which will take place in December.
"I'm just going to smash her," Tate told TMZ on Tuesday. "I want her to wake up and see the ceiling in the headlights and me standing over her with belt on already."
In previews of the coming episode, Rousey can be seen losing her Temper with Tate and at some point she even appears to be in tears. The footage does little to show off her personality, Rousey suggested.
"How could people possibly know who you are from a couple of clips of a video that people are seeing out of context?" Rousey asked USA. "That's no way for people to get to know you, so I'm just preparing for people to get the worst idea of who I am."
But despite all of Tate's talk, it will be hard for her to take on Rousey, who is ranked number one in her league. Tate however, does not appear to be discouraged.
"I would love nothing more than to break her jaw," she told TMZ.
