Roseanne Barr for President? It's True!
Look out, America! Roseanne Barr has officially entered the presidential race.
The actress told reporters that she is running for the Green Party's presidential nomination. Barr had previously joked about joining the election, but only filed the official paperwork yesterday, making her bid real.
"The Democrats and Republicans have proven that they are servants - bought and paid for by the one percent - who are not doing what's in the best interest of the American people," Barr explained.

She has released several comments through her Twitter account that describe her campaign strategy. "As POTUS [President of the United States] I will forgive all student loans and ALL HOMEOWNER DEBT AND ALL CREDIT CARD DEBT," reads one.
Another read: "My hope is that america (sic) can return to the brilliant middle of the road away from all of these idealogues (sic) & radical extremists on both sides!"
Barr's fans have been offering their support for the new candidate, forming a new Facebook page "Roseanne Barr for President" and following her on Twitter.
"Roseanne makes sense and speaks the truth. Roseanne for President!" tweeted Bob Thomas.
Many see Barr's run as a joke, a way to make headlines and promote her new sitcom. "It is a complete and joke and utterly ridiculous," commented Jef Meulemans.
"I'm no longer following you on twitter, nor do I wish to receive your emails any longer or read about you on facebook (sic). You're a phony," stated Stephanie J. DeMartino.
Barr faces stiff completion for the Green Party's nomination. Dr. Jill Stein is a well-known environmental activist who has testified several times before Congress. Kent Mesplay sought the Green Party's nomination in 2004 but lost; he has since sought the nomination for a Senate seat but came in third. He was the first to announce his candidacy in 2011.
That is not to say that Barr is nervous: "I will barnstorm American living rooms. Mainstream media will be unable to ignore me, but more importantly, they will be unable to overlook the needs of average Americans in the run-up to the 2012 election."
