Roseanne Barr Lashes Out at New Mom Beyonce in Nasty Twitter Rant

Roseanne Barr has received widespread backlash after she attacked both Beyonce and Jay-Z via Twitter.

"I lost ALL respect for Obama when he dissed Etta James in favor of Beyonce. No respect for women at all, I thought-Etta was a hero 2 women," Barr tweeted.

"I have not listened to anything beyonce or jay z has said or recorded since they did that to Etta. Their arrogance was disgusting," Barr added, with reference to Beyonce's performance at President Obama's 2009 Inauguration Ball.

The 59-year-old comedian actress had also paid respect to legendary blues singer Etta James following news of the 73-year-old's passing.

Barr's tweets immediately sparked outrage, particularly amongst Beyonce fans who took to Twitter to respond with less than nice tweets.

"Beyonce's fans are really ignorant-she should not be proud of entertaining drooling mutants!" Barr tweeted in response to angry fans.

"Just finished telling all of beyonce's cheesy stupid a-- fans who slammed me to go and f--- themselves! It was fun!" she continued.

Barr then took a final swing at Beyonce by comparing the 31-year-old's vocals to that of American Idol's Sanjaya Malakar although she misspelled his name. "Sanjaya gupte is a much better singer than beyonce-and his hair looks real!" Barr wrote.

It is unclear what prompted Barr to publicly attack the music industry's power couple, but she eventually released what critics initially thought was an apology.

"I sincerely want2 apologize 4 the rude comments I made2 twitters defending the fabulously talented Beyonce. I reverted 2 stand up slams," Barr later tweeted.

The "apology" was then followed with another dig at new mum Beyonce. "I will ask Queen Bey 2 sing when I'm sworn in as POTUS. I want her to sing the song, 'People' or perhaps, 'Respect'-she will do a great job ... I will ask Bey to sing Barbra's 'people who need people,'" Barr tweeted.

Neither Beyonce nor husband Jay-Z ,42, have publicly responded to Barr's insults.
