Royal Baby Arrives, Kate, Prince William Thank Hospital
Kate Middleton and Prince William issued their first statement thanking St. Mary's Hospital after welcoming their first child there on Monday.
The royal couple, both 31-years-old welcomed a son who weighed 8 pounds, six ounces at birth on Monday.
On Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge thanked the London hospital for their care.

"We would like to thank the staff at the Lindo Wing and the whole hospital for the tremendous care the three of us have received," read the joint statement.
"We know it has been a very busy period for the hospital and we would like to thank everyone- staff, patients and visitors- for their understanding during this time," the first-time parents added.
As for how the new parents and baby are getting along, a spokesman for Kensington Palace said: "Mother, son and father are all doing well this morning."
The thank you is the first news from the couple since welcoming their baby boy. However, William's father, Prince Charles, was open about his reaction to the child.
"Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone's life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time," said Charles, the first in line to the British throne. "We are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future."
In the meantime, Middleton, her husband, and the baby are expected to stay at St. Mary's Hospital until at least 6 p.m. London time.
Until then, members of the media and hundreds of fans are waiting outside of the hospital for the first glimpse at the new parents and child, whose name has not yet been revealed.
The prince could be named today, and His Royal Highness has already received the title Prince [name] of Cambridge, but even Prince Charles insists he does not yet know the moniker chosen.
"Nobody knows what William and Kate are calling their baby or even if they have decided on a name," revealed a source close to the royals just weeks ago, according to E! News.
"They are being very careful to keep everything to themselves," the insider added. "The duke and duchess are taking their privacy very seriously. They are not speaking to anyone about these private matters."
