Royal Baby Birth Certificate Revealed, Kate's Occupation: Princess
Kate Middleton and Prince William's child Prince George is officially registered after a handwritten birth certificate was drawn up on Friday.
The royal baby, whose official title is His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge, was born on July 22 in London's St. Mary's Hospital.
Kensington Palace announced Friday that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge formally registered their son's birth.
The new parents, both 31 years old, signed the birth register early in the day before a witness from the Westminster Register Office, according to Us magazine.
Furthermore, the handwritten birth record listed Kate Middelton's occupation as "Princess of the United Kingdom," while Prince William's occupation was listed as "Prince of the United Kingdom." The pair was listed as "prince" and "princess" despite the fact that their official titles are the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess and their new son have been staying at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury, Berk, England- about 50 miles away from London.
Following the arrival of Prince George Alexander Louis, Will and Kate offered the world a first glimpse at the child when they stepped out of the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's hospital on July 23.
It was then that Prince William revealed his son had "a very good pair of lungs on him that's for sure."
The doting parents also thanked the hospital for the "tremendous care of the three of us has received."
"We know it has been a very busy period for the hospital and we would like to thank everyone- staff, patients and visitors- for their understanding during this time," the joint statement added.
More recent news about the royal baby revealed his nickname: Georgie.
Prince George's grandfather Prince Charles said that George was a "very good name" but revealed that the Duke and Duchess would likely call him "Georgie in no time" due to the late Prince George, Duke of Kent also being called Georgie by family members.
Prince George is now third in line to the British throne; following his grandfather and Prince William.
Despite his royal heritage, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are "dismissing a lavish christening," according to The Belfast Telegraph. The new parents reportedly prefer to baptize their child at a private chapel in Windsor Castle sometime in the coming weeks.
