Royal Wedding Dolls of Prince William and Kate Middleton Released
Prince William and Kate Middleton had one of the most iconic Royal Weddings in history in April this year, and now due to popular demand miniature dolls of the couple in their wedding outfits have been released in London.
The prince’s doll has been decorated in a scarlet Irish Guard’s Colonel uniform, and the Duchess of Cambridge’s doll has been released wearing her famous white wedding dress.
The dolls have gone on sale in the famous toy store Hamley’s on London’s Regent Street, and have been manufactured by a British firm called “Arklu.”
Looking not to disappoint fans, the Kate Middleton doll has been kitted out with her entire wedding wardrobe; her earrings, tiara, engagement and wedding rings, bridal bouquet, and shoes.
The Prince William doll has been designed to look noble with the prince carrying his official uniform cap under his right arm. Although makers have spruced him up a little with black and pink socks.
Designers have also added a nice touch by adding the letter “W” to the prince’s shoes, a reference to reports that Prince William marked his shoes to avoid getting them mixed up with brother Prince Harry’s shoes.
According to the BBC the managing editor of Majesty magazine, Joe Little has said: “These are just the sort of products you'd expect to appear after a big royal wedding.”
He added: “They're harmless enough, the likenesses are reasonably good, they seem well made -- hence the price -- and they will appeal to the North American market in particular.”
However, for those wishing to purchase the memento it will not come cheap; a box set containing both dolls costs approximately $170.
Catering to the popularity of the Duchess of Cambridge, makers have also released a single box version with just the Kate Middleton doll inside, which can be purchased for about $85.
