Rupert Sanders Divorce: Kristen Stewart Affair Leads to Liberty Ross Divorce Filing
Rupert Sanders will be getting a divorce as wife, Liberty Ross, has allegedly decided her husband's affair with Twilight actress, Kristen Stewart, makes their relationship irreconcilable.
The British film director, 41, had a widely publicized affair with Kristen Stewart last year, and although British model, Liberty Ross, 34, has tried to move their relationship beyond his tryst, she has now decided to file for divorce.
The couple have been married for 10 years and have two children together; Skyla, 7, and Tennyson, 5.
According to Us Weekly, Ross has already started divorce proceedings and has requested joint custody for the children, as well as spousal support and legal fees to be paid by Sanders.
Although reports had suggested Ross was initially prepared to see if they could reconcile following his affair, in reality the two reportedly were mostly estranged since his indiscretion.
"This was a long time coming," a source has told Us Weekly.
That same source has suggested tat Sanders was desperate to repair his marriage after his affair and definitely did not want to get a divorce.
Ross famously gave up her life and career in England a few years ago to follow her husband to Hollywood to develop his directing career. However, she was left devastated by Sanders' affair, and although she wanted to try and reconcile for their two children, in the end she could not move beyond what he had done.
Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Kristen Stewart will feature in the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman.
Rupert Sanders directed the first movie which starred Kristen Stewart in the lead role, and even featured Liberty Ross as Stewart's mother in the film.
The decision to include Stewart in the sequel shocked some fans, who were left angry after the actress had an affair with Sanders following the movie, and which ultimately led to Stewart's brief split with long-term boyfriend and Twilight co-star, Robert Pattinson.
Following last summer's scandal of Stewart's affair most had thought it highly unlikely that should would be returning for a sequel to the popular original movie. However, since the revelation of her affair, Pattinson and Stewart have reconciled.
Stewart has spoken excitedly about the sequel to Indiewire, saying: "Oh, it's gonna be ******* amazing."
She added, "No, I'm so excited about it, it's crazy."
However, she refused to reveal any further details explaining that she had been told she had to keep details of the sequel top secret.
"I'm not allowed [to reveal details]. The other day I said that there was a strong possibility that we're going to make a sequel, and that's very true, but everyone was like, 'Whoa, stop talking about it. So no, I'm totally not allowed to talk about it," Stewart explained.
However, she did hint that she thought the new plot ideas for the movie were amazing, and in particular the character developments for her Snow White character would excite and please fans.
Interestingly, what has not yet been confirmed is whether Sanders will be returning as director or whether he will be replaced for the sequel.
