Rush Limbaugh and Jane Fonda: Women Want 'Misogyny' Off the Air
Jane Fonda and some of her fellow, female colleagues have agreed that the FCC should take Rush Limbaugh off the air completely.
Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan, and Gloria Steinem, Co-Founders of the Women's Media center, have expressed their vehemence in CNN's opinion section towards Rush Limbaugh and his diatribe directed at Sandra Fluke.
"Ironically, the misogyny Rush Limbaugh spewed for three days over Sandra Fluke was not much worse than his regular broadcast of sexist, racist and homophobic hate speech," the women wrote.

The women have charged that Limbaugh has purposefully dehumanized the people that he's targeted. Their evidence of the strong accusations was that the host called the National Organization of Women "a bunch of whores to liberalism."
In another quote they offered, Limbaugh said that Female Cabinet members were "Sex-retaries."
The women stated that Limbaugh's targets have included: "women, people of color, lesbians and gays, immigrants, the disabled, the elderly, Muslims, Jews, veterans, environmentalists and so forth."
The women charge that Limbaugh breeds hatred and should therefore be taken off the air. The charges were prompted after the most recent incident in which Limbaugh called Sandra Fluke a "slut" and "prostitute" for testifying that the federal government should ensure private insurance companies pay for contraception.
"That makes this a fitting time to inquire of his syndicator, Clear Channel Communications, whether it intends to continue supporting someone who addicts his audience to regular doses of hate speech."
If their efforts to get Limbaugh off the air prove too difficult that way, the women also offered an alternative. If Clear Channel refuses to end "The Rush Limbaugh Show" they advise the public to question the FCC.
Are the stations carrying Limbaugh's show in fact using their licenses "in the public interest?" the women posed.
Many who read the CNN opinion piece agreed with Fonda, Morgan, and Steinem.
"It is long overdue to remove Rush Limbaugh from our airwaves. His hate-mongering rhetoric, under the ever-so-popular guise of humor, comedy, or first amendment right to free speech has become intolerable," orchidbleu wrote on the CNN blog.
"He is indeed constitutionally entitled to his opinions, but he is not constitutionally entitled to the people's airways," the three women contested, urging others to encourage the Clear Channel to remove his show from the radio.
