Rush Limbaugh: Democrats Make Women 'Nothing But Abortion Machines' (VIDEO)
Radio talk show host and shock jock Rush Limbaugh said on his Wednesday airing of "The Rush Limbaugh Show" that the Democratic Party has turned women into "nothing but abortion machines."
Limbaugh, known for making strong statements relating to political and social issues, was responding to a caller's question on how Republicans can fight back against "liberal propaganda" that paints the conservative party as being "anti-women" due to its pro-life stance. Liberals have accused conservatives of waging a "war on women" primarily due to the push of pro-life legislation in several states that some say violates a woman's right to abort their baby.
"Look at what they [Democrats] are doing to women with their policies: They're demeaning them, they're turning them into nothing but abortion machines," Limbaugh argued on his show that airs for three hours each weekday. "There's so much that we could be doing to just fight back, but the Republican Party, even if they had all the money in the world right now, doesn't seem inclined to do any of this," the talk show host added. Limbaugh went on to accuse Democrats of destroying "the black family" and "destroying the minority family."
The conservative radio host has previously stirred controversy when discussing women's issues relating to abortion and contraception. Last year, Limbaugh received a widespread amount of criticism when he called Georgetown University student Sandra Fluke a "prostitute" and "slut" after the young woman went before a Congressional committee to testify as to why the government should cover insurance costs for birth control.
"What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex? What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex," Limbaugh told his show's listeners in February 2012.
Many accused Limbaugh as being too harsh in his criticism of Fluke, and the comments became so widely discussed by media outlets that President Obama ultimately called Fluke to offer his support.
