Rush Limbaugh Starts 'Babes for America' Campaign
This week outspoken conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh, in response to recent criticism, launched a campaign on Facebook geared towards conservative women.
His new campaign, The National Organization for Rush Babes or Rush babes of America for short, set out to be a support structure for "the millions of conservative women who know what they believe in: family, American values and not being told by faux feminist groups how to think."
During his radio show on Tuesday, which is nationally broadcast in over 600 stations, Limbaugh made his announcement of his new campaign and explained that it was founded in response to other liberal women's organizations, including the National Organization for Women.

"The National Organization for Women is not a female organization. It's a liberal organization disguised as a group that's interested in the rights of women. These groups, they happen to have 'woman' or 'women' in their names, and they're claiming to represent all women. And in reality, they represent a tiny number of highly-agitated activist types. They're basically miserable and unhappy women, for whatever reason," said Limbaugh.
The Facebook page will act as a forum where conservative women can meet and discuss topics and issues that other women have as well. One of the topics that Limbaugh himself has had an issue with is what he calls a double standard in the media.
He cited the outcry he experienced over the controversial remarks he made concerning Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke, but the virtual silence over comedian Bill Maher's comments directed at Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol.
"Bill Maher can run around and conduct his own War on Women, as long as it's against conservative women … he can call them the most disgusting names, and the National Organization for Women will not condemn him. They will not condemn President Obama for accepting a million-dollar donation from Bill Maher," according to a post on Limbaugh's website.
This situation is set to become more intense given that NOW is planning several demonstrations calling for Limbaugh to be taken off the air.
