Russell Brand Calls Internet 'Wicked Little Liar,' Comedian Debunks Divorce and Pregnancy Rumors
Russell Brand firmly denied rumors that he and spouse Katy Perry are getting divorced - a day after the pop singer did the same on Twitter.
Much like many celebrity couples, the British actor and the American singer face rumors on the Internet that question how much longer they will stay together, and how soon they will be getting divorced. Perry hit two birds with one stone when she denied on Twitter yesterday that she was pregnant and she and Brand were getting a divorce.
The comedian husband made an appearance today on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," according to Entertainment Weekly, and in his usual witty-style poked fun at the rumors.
“There are always rumors, aren’t there? In the end you have to just not engage with Internet technology-which is difficult because a lot of the nude women websites I quite enjoy,” joked Brand.
He also called the source of the rumors a “wicked little liar'' and confirmed that he married Perry with the idea they will stay together indefinitely - “until death do them part.” He also denied that a baby was on the horizon, but said he would like to have one day.
Brand also had an interesting take on what it means to be a celebrity nowadays, where contradictory media reports often paint people as doing various things and having different personalities.
"Being famous is like a little bit of you is taken away and goes off and lives on it's own and does what it wants. I wish it would do more interesting things. I don't know what he's doing, the other me, but I'm married to Katy,” said the 36-year-old Brit.
