Ryan Gosling Opens Up About Daughter Esmeralda And Love For Eva Mendes

Ryan Gosling is notorious for being extremely private; in fact, he and longtime love, Eva Mendes, usually go out of their way to avoid the limelight. But, recently, the 35-year-old "Drive" actor sat down with Hello! magazine to talk about love, fatherhood, career inspirations, and celebrating the holidays as a family.

"This will be our first Christmas where [Esmeralda is] sort of taking it all in, so that's exciting," Gosling told the magazine. What he isn't looking forward to, however, is his mother's choice of holiday music. "She's obsessed with the Hanson Christmas album!" the actor told the magazine. He added: "No disrespect to Hanson, they're very talented kids, but I think I've heard that record enough. I'm sure it will be on a loop this Christmas as well."

Gosling also talked about fatherhood, which he said is "not rocket science." Parenting seems to suit the "The Notebook" actor, who also opened up about his love and devotion for his partner, Mendes. "I know that I'm with the person I'm supposed to be with," the actor shared. According to him, he isn't looking for anything else in a woman other than "that she's Eva Mendes." And he already has her.

In the Hello! interview, Gosling also chats about working again with "Crazy, Stupid, Love" co-star Emma Stone in the upcoming film "La La Land" and his experience working on "The Big Short" with movie stars Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, and Steve Carell. The biographical dramedy, written and directed by former SNL head writer Adam McKay, is already generating Oscar buzz.

The "Gangster Squad" actor began dating Eva Mendes, his co-star in the 2012 film "The Place Beyond the Pines," in September 2011. The couple welcomed their daughter, Esmeralda Amada Gosling, in September 2014.

Ryan Gosling returns to the big screen with "The Big Short" (in theaters Dec. 23).
