On the other hand, the Kings got new players and have a relatively strong core of veterans in the line-up with players like DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay in the line-up. Add point guard Rajon Rondo in the mix and people thought that the Kings would be one of the most improved teams.

However, they have not gone off smoothly and while they have won a few games, they are still in danger of another wasted season.

The two teams are scheduled to meet four times this season and this coming meeting is their third, with their first two games as high-scoring affairs.

In the first meeting, the Rockets took a 116-110 victory after outscoring the Kings in the first two periods.

With a lead in front of them, the Kings furiously tried to mount a comeback but ultimately fell short as they could not stop James Harden who had 43 points and 13 assists in the game.

Darren Collison led the Kings with 22 points and nine assists but lacked support from other players.

In the next game, the teams played at the Toyota Center where it was a back-and-forth match as Houston opened up a big lead after the first quarter.

Sacramento responded in the second and even mad outscored the Rockets in the third.

Unfortunately, they could not hold on to the momentum as Dwight Howard and the Rockets had a 36-point fourth quarter to eventually win 120-113.

Harden had 31 points in the night, while Rondo had 13 points and 19 assists in the loss.
