Sage Stallone Dead: Son of Sasha Czack, Sylvester Stallone Dies of Unknown Pills
Sage Stallone has been found dead at his Los Angeles home on Friday. The son of Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone died aged 36 from what is claimed to be a drug overdose, with unidentified pills found at the scene, according to TMZ.
Sage's lawyer explained, "Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son Sage Stallone. His compassion and thoughts are with Sage's mother, Sasha. Sage was a very talented and wonderful young man. His loss will be felt forever."
Sage's mom, Sasha Czack, is also reported to be devastated after being informed of the tragedy.
Sasha Czack married Sylvester Stallone in 1974, but they divorced in 1985. They had two children together, Sage and Seargeoh Stallone. Czack was the lead photographer and co-writer of Rocky, which was first released in 1976. She reportedly retired as a photographer after her second child was diagnosed with Autism.
It has been reported that Sage had not responded when an acquaintance called to check on him. The LAPD performed a welfare check, where they found him dead. Sage Stallone had been alone in the apartment and according to TMZ his death was due to an overdose of an unidentified type of pill.
The 36-year-old was engaged to be married, and was working on numerous film projects at the time of his death. He had acted in movies "Daylight" and "Rocky V" - both with his father. In 1996, he and film editor Bob Murawski, co-founded Grindhouse Releasing, a Los Angeles based company dedicated to the restoration and preservation of exploitation films.
In recent years, Sage Stallone directed his first short film Vic which screened at the 2006 Palm Springs, California Film Festival.
Sylvester Stallone was in San Diego Thursday to promote "Expendables 2," his new film with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
