SAGU Benefits From Joint Agreement with AGTS and Regent University

A second joint agreement was signed on Nov 10 by representatives from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary (AGTS) in Springfield, Missouri, and from Southwestern Assemblies of God University's (Waxahachie, Texas) administration detailing collaboration between the two universities, after the first agreement with Regent University signed earlier this year.

SAGU offers over 45 undergraduate and eight graduate programs on campus and through the School of Distance Education.

Through the agreement, SAGU students will be benefited from receiving easier credit transfer to AGTS’ Master of Divinity program and all 36 credit hours from SAGU’s Masters in Bible and Theology will be accepted by AGTS. In addition, SAGU alumni will receive a 10 percent tuition discount.

The agreement with Regent University reflects the same type of collaboration shared by SAGU and AGTS. It allows SAGU students to receive easier credit transfer into eight of Regent's graduate school programs. Regent now accepts 25 percent of the credits earned through SAGU's Masters in Counseling Psychology directly into Regent's Doctorate in Psychology.

President Bridges commented that the joint effort was a win/win situation for everyone. The agreement will in the future also allow the different departments to exchange professors for lectures, seminars, etc. SAGU graduates will receive a 10 percent discount into most of Regent’s program for doctor’s degree.

Following the signing, Dr. Byron Klaus, President of AGTS, addressed the student body. "I believe the future is bright in our Fellowship, and you are the reason it's bright."

Joining Dr. Klaus from AGTS were Dr. Earl G. Creps, director, Doctor of Ministry Program; and Mario Guerreiro, director, Enrollment Management.

Mr. Guerreiro was available to answer students' questions following chapel. "Your students have an excellent reputation. I'm excited about this partnership, because we want your graduates to come to AGTS," said Guerreiro.
