Salma Hayek Admits Faults 'Accent, Chubby, Dyslexic'
Actress Salma Hayek has confronted the imperfect qualities about herself in a recent interview, shocking fans and critics alike.
The 46-year-old actress explained that her Mexican background, as well as her fuller figure, comes into play what she find faulty in herself.
"I have an accent, am dyslexic, short and chubby," said the "Frido" star while speaking to Bazaar U.K., on newsstands Thursday.
"You name it, I have it, but I am here," the actress continued. "I must be the luckiest girl in the world to be working."
Ever since her career began in 1988, Hayek has maintained a curvier figure despite Hollywood's standards.
"I am on the limit of chubbiness because I love my food and my wine," she said, explaining that today's diet obsessions to not apply to her. "It's not the best for fashion, but it's good for my mood. I am happy because I eat."
Moreover, the actress, who is married to French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, imparted wise advice while speaking to the magazine.
"The truth is I just don't have the drive to be the prettiest and the thinnest," said Hayek. "I can be happy for other people for their beauty. Learn to be happy for others, and you can never run out of happiness."
Hayek shares one daughter, 5-year-old Valentina Paloma Pinault, with her husband.
The Academy Award-winning actress continued to explain her vindications for eating what she wants in her interview with Bazaar.
"I am 46; I will not have Botox," stated Hayek. "You know why? I don't need to do it because I eat the fat, I eat the vegetables, I eat everything. If you exercise too much and you don't eat enough, it takes its toll on the skin. Everything starts aging. If you don't eat carbs, you slow your metabolism down. And you know what? You look miserable."
The brunette bombshell was clearly unfazed by her age alongside 25-year-old starlet Blake Lively on the red carpet of their summer flick "Savages," yet the Hayek noted that being 40 and over in Hollywood is not easy.
"The worst thing you can be in Hollywood is a woman and over 40," she said, and noted society's "regression" where women try to "look younger and like a child."
Hayek can be seen next in the upcoming film "Here Comes the Boom," scheduled for release this month.
