James Bond Theme Song 'Spectre' Alludes to the Bible (Video)
Grammy award-winning singer Sam Smith may not have a biblical worldview per se, but his music does allude to it.
The English-born singer-songwriter was recently tasked to create the theme song for the newest James Bond film, "Spectre."
Already generating wide buzz and acclaim across the globe, Smith's song "Writing's on the Wall" is a biblical allusion.
In Chapter five of the book of Daniel, King Belshazzar threw a great banquet, during which a message mysteriously appeared on the banquet hall's wall.
None of the pagan seers could decipher the message, but the prophet Daniel could. The message spelled doom for Belshazzar.
"That very night Belshazzar, king of the Babylonians, was slain, 31 and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom, at the age of sixty-two," reads Daniel 5:30.
Starring Daniel Craig as Agent 007 and Christoph Waltz as Franz Oberhauser, "Spectre" is scheduled to debut in November.
In the meantime, enjoy Smith's emotional, passionate performance of the theme song "Writing's on the Wall."
