Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro Specs Leaked, Includes 5.5-Inch Display, 4 GB of RAM, 16MP Camera

Samsung is rumored to be releasing another variant of their smartphone model Galaxy A9 that was released towards the end of 2015. According to GSM Arena, the device is dubbed as the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro and it is tagged with the code name SM-A9100.

The source said that it's still uncertain how it will differ with the regular version but an entry in the GFXBench database was spotted containing some alleged specifications of the device. As noted in Gadgets 360, the result of the benchmark revealed that Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro is said to feature a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. However, the size of the display seems unbelievable since the regular Galaxy A9 comes with a 6-inch display. A smaller display for a "Pro" version, which is expected to be some sort of upgrade, just doesn't make sense.

Under the hood, the handset is equipped with octa-core Qualcomm CPU that is clocked at 1.8GHz. Ubergizmo noted that the chipset that is going to be used is a Snapdragon 652. Along with it is a 4 GB of RAM with Adreno 510 for graphics. The Gadgets 360 report says it has an inbuilt storage of 32 GB while 25 GB of that is user accessible. It is also noted to sport a 16-megapixel autofocus rear camera with face detection, LED flash and touch focus. It also has an 8-megapixel front camera that can record videos in full-HD resolution just like the rear camera.

Moreover, the GFXBench result revealed that the rumored smartphone will be pre-installed with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out of the box. The device will come with other features such as the sensors which include the accelerometer, compass, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. For connectivity options, it will have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro isn't officially announced yet so it's best to take these reports with a grain of salt. There is no launch date yet either but it may be making an appearance during the MWC 2016.
