Samsung Galaxy A9 Specs Rumors: To Come With Qualcomm Snapdragon 620, Android Lollipop, 3 GB of RAM

Samsung is reported to add another device in their mid-range Galaxy A series and it's called the Galaxy A9. According to Softpedia, the model version was spotted once again in Geekbench 3 database after it first appeared back in September.

The source said that the information of the device that was first released matched with the most recent benchmark, confirming some of the rumored specs. GSM Arena reported that the entry in the database listed the device's code name which is Samsung SM-A9000.

It also confirmed that it will carry a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor along with 3 GB of RAM and an Adreno 510 graphics processing unit. Aside from that, MobiPicker detailed that the Galaxy A8 successor will have a dual quad-core CPU (big.LITTLE arrangement), with four being Cortex-A72 cores and the other four being Cortex-A53 cores. This will make the handset a great one in terms of performance level.

Previous reports believed that the Galaxy A9 will sport a 6-inch capacitive touchscreen display. However, the device is expected to come with only 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080p resolution. It's also said to be pre-installed with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but users can opt to update to the latest operating system, Android Marshmallow. It will be equipped with 32 GB of internal storage, which can be expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card.

Geek Says noted that it will feature a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. Other rumors point that it will come out with rotating camera just like the Oppo N1. The battery pack is not yet made known though.

According to Yibada, the expected price of the handset is around $500 and it may be launched before the end of the year. But there are reports that it may be delayed since its predecessor was just recently released back in July.
