Korean smartphone manufacturer Samsung is not just about high-end flagship devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. The company is also paying attention to the bigger mid-range market, by releasing budget and mid-range phones regularly. While its mid-rangers may not get as much press as its high-end flagship, it does not mean that rumors about these devices are not as plentiful.
According to a report in Tech Times, press renders for the 2016 version of the Samsung Galaxy J7 was recently leaked, giving the public a glimpse of the phone's design. The report also claimed that the device's launch will be coming soon.
The device is reported to tout a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. An octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC running at 1.6 GHz is said to power the device along with 3 GB of RAM and an ARM Mali-T830 GPU. Battery capacity is pegged at 3,300 mAh, while internal storage is available at 16 GB. The good news for users who tend to use their smartphones for their media files is that the J7 comes with expandable storage up to 128 GB through a microSD card slot. These specifications were listed when the device passed through FCC and TENAA certification.

The 2016 version of the Galaxy J7 will continue the advanced camera capabilities that the J Series is known for. According to the report, it will have a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The device will not disappoint selfie lovers and photography lovers, with its Advanced Mode for imaging.
The leaked press renders showed the device as a China Mobile variant, which may mean that the device will see a China launch first. The previous J7 was released globally so this likely means that the new J7 will find its way to other markets as well.
According to the report, the device will be selling for less than $300.
