Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 Review: Specs, Features, Price Overview
Samsung almost always hits the mark when it comes to delivering great quality devices. Though many complain that the designs of the company's latest gadgets leave a lot to be desired, the brand continues to churn out powerful and compelling devices which result to brand loyalty in the ever-fickle tech market.
One device that many people are talking about is the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2, the follow up to last year's Galaxy Mega. Though at first glance it appears as though there are few improvements over its predecessor, the Galaxy Mega 2 has impressive features that will surely be appreciated by those who are a fan of phablets.
The device measures 6.44 x 3.34 x 0.34 and weighs 6.84 ounces. Its screen is smaller at 6 inches than its predecessor's which measures 6.3 inches. The display has a resolution of 1280 x 720 which results in vivid colors. The gadget has a faux chrome metal running along the outer edge and a mock-leather back.
The Galaxy Mega 2 is powered by a quad-core Samsung Exynos 4415 processor with 1.5GB RAM and an internal storage of 16GB and can be expanded up to 64GB via a microSD card slot. It runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat and is equipped with an 8 megapixel rear facing camera and a 2MP front-facing camera.
Those who like to watch movies on their devices will love the Mega 2's Movable Mini Controller feature, which is a small, semi-transparent controller made for interruption-free operation. Using this feature, one can change the subtitles, font size, color, time sync, and text position on the screen.
