Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to be Re-Introduced on August 15
The status of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 will be announced on Aug. 15, according to a recent report.
The company first unveiled the device at Mobile World Congress that took place in Barcelona back in the winter of this year.
Even though the device was announced at then, it never reached store shelves and the company is now expected to reveal a new set of specifications along with a new release date for it sometime in August, according to a Korean electronics website.
It functions as 10-inch version of the original 5.3-inch Note, allowing owners to take advantage of its signature stylus known as the S-Pen and its apps made specifically for it.
The Galaxy Note 10.1's new specifications were recently leaked by a Korean man who managed to get his hands on a retail unit. He shared the unboxing pictures and the new official specs with YouMobile.org.
This new set of specs includes the same Exynos 4412 chipset with a 1.4GHz quad-processor features on the Galaxy S3, along with 2GB RAM, and a 5-megapixel rear camera. The front of the device is said to have a 1.9-megapixel camera and run off a 7000 mAh battery.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 should also feature Android 4.0, or 4.1 when it is released.
Samsung is also planning to launch a successor to the original Galaxy Note in the fall of this year.
The electronics giant will bump up the phone-tablet hybrid's screen size to 5.5-inches, and it will be unveiled at IFA 2012 that is due to start on Aug. 31 in Berlin.
A recent report also stated that the Galaxy Note 2 will come with a quad-core processor and a 12-13 megapixel rear camera. And even though Samsung will enlarge the screen on the device, the size of the new Note when compared to the original will be the same.
