It has been almost a year since Samsung wowed the phablets domain with its well-praised flagship phone, the Galaxy Note 5, which is a very powerful device housed in a 5.7" screen with a whopping 1440p Super Amoled display consisting of pixel densities at 515 ppi. The Galaxy Note 5 is a 64-bit, Octacore running system-on-chip that boasts of an Octa7420 with four cores, respectively. It comes in either 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage with a non-expandable feature. The camera is executed finely as well, equipping the device with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera featuring an f/1.9 aperture and OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and HDR capabilities. Who can forget the amazing S Pen? The magic wand of the Note Line. The only feature that distinctly sets Samsung apart from its competitors.
This year, Samsung will be releasing the next iteration for its most powerful series of devices, the Galaxy Note 7. But the big question is: Where is the Galaxy Note 6? Why did Samsung decide to skip a single digit in its line of impressive smartphones?
The battle of the best smartphone is unending, and it tackles a lot of competing brands that categorically caters to a certain smartphone user's point of preference. Why does this play an important role in the naming of the new Galaxy Note 7 and not Galaxy Note 6? Samsung must at least be ready to disclose its reason of breaking the chronology of the series. As for the lot that has been anticipating the release of the Note 7, rumors have risen that it may possibly be that Samsung has decided to level up to its series. Just recently, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge have been released and are continuously gaining praises for their success. Could it be that, on a cellular level, it is considering it to underpass a state of inferiority to the S7 and S7 Edge simply because of the number naming? Or could it also be the fact that almost majority of its competitors are releasing with brands of 7's all over? (Axon 7, iPhone 7) It's not important now as long as we know that it's ready to pack punches with its obiviously powerful features.

Rumors say that the Note 7 will most probably look like the S7 Edge, and the device is also expected to feature a 5.7" display. The processors will definitely be a much-enhanced version of the Galaxy Note 5. It promises to amplify its performance in terms of speed and provide more flexible memory storage capabilities that would be of a huge advantage, considering the Note 5's decision of sealing the memory to internal use only. Another question is, would it be featuring an IP68 body? Nobody is certain for sure until we've seen Samsung's early launch this August.
Regardless of all the rumors, the Note 7 is sure to hit the spot. But can it once again take the title of king of phablets this year?
