Galaxy S2 Release Date: Free Blu-Ray Player Offer Launches at Best Buy
Best Buy is offering a Blu-ray player free with the purchase of the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch for a limited time.
The offer, available both online and in-stores bundles a Samsung Blu-ray player with the purchase of an Epic 4G Touch and a two-year contract or qualified upgrade on the Sprint network.
Customers must also purchase a Simply Everything or Everything Data plan and a $10 Premium Data add-on to qualify for the Blu-Ray player.
The Best Buy web store notes that for online purchases "the Blu-ray player will not display in cart but will be shipped directly to customer."
The offer end on Nov. 19 and the products will ship "earlier than 15 days after offer end date" and "will arrive prior to Nov. 24, 2011."
Online purchase and in-store pick up is also available.
The Epic 4G Touch is a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S2 powered exclusively by Sprint.
The smartphone features a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 8.0 megapixel rear and 2.0 megapixel front cameras with 1080p HD video, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, 4G speed and Bluetooth compatibility and up to 8.7 hours talk time.
The Epic 4G Touch released on Sept. 16 and was the best selling phone on the Sprint network until the carrier acquired the iPhone; however the Galaxy S2 remains one of the best selling Android smartphones on all its U.S. networks, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile.
The accompanying Samsung Blu-ray player allows for "allShare streaming of PC audio and video, multiformat disc playback, enhancement of standard DVDs by upscaling to HDTV resolutions and multiple Dolby Digital decoders for superior sound quality," according to Best Buy online.
