Samsung Galaxy S2 Release Date: LTE HD Version Coming to US?
A Federal Communications Commission’s leak of the Samsung Galaxy S2 revealed that a LTE HD version of the Android smartphone might be released in the United States soon.
Engaget, a technology website, uncovered documents from the FCC that details the proposed U.S. LTE HD Galaxy S2 model.
Specifications include a 4.65-inch display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1 GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p HD recording, 2-megapixel front facing shooter, 16 GB of built-in storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC.

The HD LTE version of the Galaxy is expected to run on Android 2.3.5, the latest Gingerbread update. It will also be compatible with LTE, HSPA and CDMA networks. The HD LTE version was first introduced to South Korea in September.
Engadget suggested that if the FCC is reviewing the device, it might soon be available in the U.S. While the Galaxy S2 was originally released internationally in April, it was first released in South Korea in February.
The Sprint network released its Epic 4G Touch variant on Sept. 16. AT&T released its S2 on Oct. 2 and T-Mobile released its model on Oct. 12.
The specifications of the HD LTE Galaxy S2 resemble the T-Mobile model, sharing the 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Other models run on a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.
The T-Mobile version also has a 4.52-inch display while other models have a 4.3-inch display.
