Samsung Galaxy S2 Release Date: T-Mobile Fights Back With HTC Amaze and Galaxy S2
For T-Mobile USA customers disappointed over the new iPhone 4S not coming to the carrier, more exciting smartphones are on the way that may offer consolation.
The U.S. service provider has been sending out invitations to its upcoming media event on Oct. 12, where T-Mobile will officially launch their version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 and the HTC Amaze 4G.
Both smartphones are powered by Android and the company is launching them at a time when Apple is receiving bad press connected to the disappointing announcement of the iPhone 4S.
These Android devices feature impressive specs. The Amazon 4G sports a 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.3-inch qHD screen, Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread), 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1080p recording, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and NFC technology.
The Galaxy S2 also shines with its 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.5-inch display, Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread), 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1080p recording, and 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
Samsung’s Galaxy S2 is already available on both Sprint and AT&T.
The device was deemed the “iPhone killer” by the electronics giant, and judging by the reviews, the company certainly has a chance to capitalize on the fact that Apple failed to announce the long awaited iPhone 5, and gain more market share with the Galaxy S2.
Both the Amaze and the Galaxy are 4G ready.
The new iPhone 4S will run only on 3G.
However, Apple has announced that the new iPhone will receive an increase in speed thanks to an updated antenna combined with the iPad 2’s processor. According to the company, this iPhone will operate just as fast as if it was on 4G. However, it has since been clarified that the extra speed is not available on all networks.
The Amaze and the Galaxy are already packing heavy artillery under the hood, and by being 4G ready, these devices will be some fierce adversaries to the iPhone 4S.
