Samsung Galaxy S3 Price Drops to $0.01 on Amazon.com
The Samsung Galaxy S3 price dropped to just $0.01 on Amazon.com this week.
Customers can take advantage of this fire sale price by purchasing the phone directly through the site and signing a new 2-year contract with Sprint. Customers can also purchase the Galaxy Note 2 on Amazon.com for $139.99. However, the Galaxy Note 2 deal does not apply to the white model, as that version will run customers $30 more.
These low price tags now being applied to the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 can be attributed to the upcoming successors for the two devices that will launch sometime this year.
The first of these will be the Galaxy S4. Rumored specifications for the flagship handset include Android 4.2, JellyBean, a 5-inch 1080p Full HD Super AMOLED display, a 2GHz A15 Exynos 5450 Quad CPU, ARM Mali T658, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera, and a 3100mAh battery.
The device is expected to be unveiled on March 15 by Samsung at a special "Mobile Unpacked" event set to take place in the U.S. The handset will be available for purchase sometime in April, according to the latest rumors.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to launch later on in the year. The smartphone-tablet hybrid is expected to feature the company's new Exynos 5 Octa-core processor.
Samsung unveiled the Exynos 5 Octa to the public at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month. The company confirmed at the event that this new processor will be featured on some of its upcoming products that will be released this year.
Samsung believes that the processing power offered by this new chip will allow smartphone and tablet users to perform many tasks simultaneously, such as playing a game, watching an HD movie, and searching for a restaurant or business, all without lag.
"Level of pure processing power, never seen before in mobile devices and more detailed damage to cards, then ever before," said a Samsung executive.
