Samsung Galaxy S3 to Include Qualcomm S4 With LTE Support on Verizon
Verizon's version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 will feature a Qualcomm Dual-core Snapdragon S4 chip along with LTE support, according to a leaked user agent code from the carrier's website.
It also revealed that the new device will have a 720p HD display.
These features have been confirmed by a Samsung executive in the past who said that the Galaxy S3 will have two versions and that the U.S. model will feature a dual-core.
With the combination of the leak and the Samsung's executive's statements, YouMobile.org feels that this will be the case when it comes to the worldwide release of the device.
Samsung recently confirmed that there will be a quad-core chip in whatever device is unveiled at its "Mobile Unpacked" event set to take place on Thursday.
The User Agent leaked code shows a smartphone that has the model number SCH-I535 and features a 720p display along with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.
"The model number seems to fit in with traditional model numbers used by Verizon for Samsung branded smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (SCH-I515), the Samsung Droid Charge (SCH-I510) and the Samsung Fascinate (SCH-1500)," wrote YouMobile.org.
The site reports that the international version of the S3 will have a quad-core Exynos 4 CPU, and will have the S4 CPU for the U.S. version because the Exynos does not support LTE connectivity.
The S4 supports the network that will let Verizon users enjoy a 48Mpbs data connection.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to debut today at the company's "Mobile Unpacked" event that will take place in London, England.
The company sent out invites to the event last month that read "Come and meet the next Galaxy."
The electronics giant is also expected to unveil the next-generation line of Galaxy Tabs at "Mobile Unpacked."
