Samsung Galaxy S3 to Launch With Quad-Core Chip and 2GB RAM in Korea
Samsung is planning to launch a special version of the Galaxy S3 smartphone in Korea that features both a 1.4Ghz quad-core Exynos CPU and 2GB of RAM.
This is a special model due to the fact that it combines the best of the two variants that are being released around the world.
The original version of the Galaxy S3 that was unveiled at the company's "Mobile Unpacked" event back in May featured the quad-core Exynos chip with 1GB of RAM.

Shortly after the device's unveiling, Samsung announced that it would be releasing another version for carriers with LTE networks that will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 dual-core chip and 2GB RAM.
This was done so that the Galaxy S3 would be made more compatible with LTE networks.
And the RAM boost was probably done in order to keep the two devices around the same speed in terms of multi-tasking.
This new Korean variant combines the best of both of these models featuring quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display, and the new S-Voice Siri-like function.
The Galaxy S3 came under some heat this week after Apple filed a patent infringement claim in attempts to ban sales of the smartphone in U.S., Australia, and parts of Europe.
Samsung has vowed to fight this and stop Apple's ban of the smartphone in these areas of the world.
Other variants of the Samsung Galaxy S3 are expected to launch before the end of the summer including a red model of the device that AT&T has announced for a release.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 began launching in select areas around the world earlier this month and comes in both a Pebble Blue and Marble White color.
