Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3, JellyBean Update Leaks
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.3, JellyBean update leaked onto the internet this week.
The version that surfaced is a test firmware and is known as build version I9505XXUEMI8. It is compatible with the GT-I950 Galaxy S4.
Software versions such as this one could potentially cause problems with the device, so anyone intending to install it should do so with extreme caution. Users that do decide to test it out should back up their entire handset.
Sam Mobile posted instructions for installing the build and claims that it is very stable. It brings a significant performance boost to the device, according to the site.
The Android 4.3, JellyBean update release dates for the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 were leaked by Samsung Canada and French mobile operator SFR.
Samsung Canada's vice president of the enterprise business division Paul Brennan confirmed to MobileSyrup that the Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, and Galaxy Note 2 will update to the new software a bit after international users.
The company will apparently upgrade all three of these devices simultaneously during the month of November for Canadian users. International users will get Android 4.3 sometime during October.
Samsung has been working with Google and local carriers to "ensure a smooth" rollout for all of these smartphones.
French mobile operator SFR confirmed the Android 4.3 roll out for the three devices in a new chart.
The Galaxy S4 will receive it sometime in October through Kies and OTA. The Galaxy S3 will get the update in November or December through the same methods and the Galaxy Note 2 will have it around the same time.
SFR also revealed that the HTC One will update to Android 4.3 sometime in October.
