Samsung Galaxy S4 Launches on Schedule Through US Cellular
The Samsung Galaxy S4 was released right on schedule by U.S. Cellular.
Despite the other major U.S. carriers experiencing delays due to supply shortage, U.S. Cellular will still carry on as scheduled and released the Galaxy S4 to those who pre-ordered the device on April 26, according to a report from AllThingsD.
U.S. Cellular is also running a promotion for those who purchase the smartphone as they will receive as free S View Flip cover that normally costs $60. This cover protects the smartphone without much bulk.
The carrier offers the 16GB version of the Galaxy S4 for $199.99 with a new 2-year contract.
T-Mobile was originally scheduled to offer the Galaxy S4 in its online store on April 24. However, the carrier informed customers on Tuesday night that it would be delaying the launch until Monday, April 29.
Sprint originally intended to begin selling the Galaxy S4 on April 27, but the carrier has also been forced to change its plans and is now taking orders online with limited supplies being sold in its retail locations. The official online Sprint release should be this Saturday.
Verizon had already pushed its release date behind other carriers before this news. The company was supposed to release the device on April 30 with shipments sometime in May. AT&T will begin offering the Galaxy S4 on April 27 in its stores.
The handset will officially be unveiled in India on April 26. Samsung has already begun sending out invites to the press for the event where the device will be introduced. It is expected to go on sale just days after the initial unveiling takes place.
The price for the Galaxy S4 in India is rumored to be Rs. 40,000 which is equivalent to US $737.16.
