Samsung Galaxy S4 Sprint Release Date Announced for April 27

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Sprint release date has been announced for April 27.

The carrier announced the news earlier and is excited that this new Samsung flagship will be available in the very near future.

"Galaxy S4 packed with incredible new features that will benefit from unlimited data plans on the Sprint 4G LTE network," said Fared Adib, Senior Vice President of Product Development at Sprint.

"Sprint encourages our customers to really use their smartphone to its full potential- from surfing the web to listening to streaming music or watching YouTube videos without worry about data caps, throttling or silly overage charges on their monthly bill," he said.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy S4 on Sprint will start on April 18. The 16GB version will retail for $249.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade and 2-year service agreement. It will hit stores April 27 and will come in two colors: White Frost and Black Mist.

The Galaxy S4 was unveiled by Samsung last month at the company's Mobile "Unpacked" event in New York City.

Many of the rumored specifications were dead on, including the 5-inch display with 441 ppi. However, rumors of Samsung switching to LCD were incorrect, as the device still packs a Super AMOLED display.

Other rumored specs such as the 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front camera, and Android 4.2.2 JellyBean are also featured on the Galaxy S4.

Various tech outlets were correct in predicting that Samsung would launch the Galaxy S4 with two different processors. The device will with feature the new 1.6GHz Exynos Octa-core chip or 1.9GHz quad-core Qualcomm, depending on the market.

The smartphone will also feature the rumored eye-tracking technology so the device will automatically perform tasks based on where the user's eyes are along with smart pause, which pauses a video once the user looks away from the device.
