Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2017 Available on Nov. 1 for $229.99
South Korean tech giant Samsung is bringing back its Galaxy Tab A series. Brand new units should start selling on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
"At Samsung, we constantly work to deliver meaningful innovation that delights our customers and meets their unique needs," Samsung Electronics America vice president and general manager of product marketing Alanna Cotton said in a statement. "The Galaxy Tab A is designed for parents and kids. It's the tablet that's just as easy to take on the go or curl up with on the couch, with long-lasting battery life to get the whole family through the day."
The latest tablet in the series comes with an 8-inch display with 1280x800 screen resolution. It is, according to the company, designed for everyday use. Its immersive display enables users to watch shows, play games, and more without having to worry about the glare of bright sunlight. It also has a blue light filter that balances the brightness and reduces eye strain. With its sleek metal frame and smooth rounded edges, the device will be easier to grip.
The family-friendly tablet is equipped with kid content services. The Kids Mode comes with 5,000 exclusive games and video titles from The Lego Group. Users will also have the option to download popular apps such as "Lego Batman: Beyond Gotham," "Lego Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin," Toca Hair Salon 3 and more for free. For an uninterrupted gaming experience, Samsung created the Call and Notification Prevention Mode.
For every purchase of a Galaxy Tab A 2017, users should have $100 worth of premium games, books, movies, and shows.
The Galaxy Tab A 2017 also offers longer battery life and increased onboard memory. Moreover, its storage capacity can be expanded.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2017 will be available on the company's official website on Wednesday, Nov. 1, starting at $229.99. Two color variants are available: Black and Silver.
