Samsung Galaxy View Release Date, Specs, Rumors: To Come With 18.4-inch Display and Dock on the Back

Samsung is reported to launch a massive-sized tablet dubbed as the Galaxy View soon. The official details of the device have not been released yet but the Samsung community website SamMobile has taken hold of a series of leaked promotional images.

The recent leaked photos revealed that the Galaxy View is indeed going to be a big one just like what previous leaks have said. It is said to sport an 18.4-inch display which is actually bigger than most laptop screens.
The first thing that people will notice with it is that it does not come with a home button. Instead, it will be integrated with on-screen navigation buttons for easier access.

The tablet's dock is also a very notable feature as not all tablets in the company's line comes with it. The dock folds out at the back which allows the device to either stand upright or be positioned in a lower angle to type, play games and browse the web. There's no word though if the dock is removable. A handle is also found at the back so that carrying the device around will be easy and convenient.

But even with its huge exterior, its specs are mid-range only. According to a report by The Indian Times, earlier spec rumors revealed that the huge-sized tablet will carry underneath a 1.6 GHz octa-core Exynos 7580 processer with Mali T-720 graphics. It will be coupled with 2 GB of RAM and will have a storage capacity of 32 GB. It will have microSD card and 5.700mAH battery.

A 2-megapixel camera will be found at the front while an 8-megapixel camera will be placed at the rear. The site also noted that despite the wide display, the device may not be considered as the sharpest screen because it is said to have 1920x1080-pixel full-HD touchscreen panel only.

Tech Advisor reported that the release date for the Galaxy View has not been announced yet. But since it was teased at the end of Samsung's Gear S2 launch at IFA last September, it's expected to come soon.
