Samsung J1 News: Samsung's Newest Entry-Level Phone Hits Canadian Store Shelves
As promised by Samsung itself, its latest entry-level smartphone, Galaxy J1, has finally hit the shelves of Canadian stores sans the presence of any ceremonious event.
Beginning April 13, Bell and other Canadian carriers will start offering the phone for a plan, although those who wish to avail of the device off-contract can purchase it from Telus at a $150 price tag.
Samsung dubs J1 as "visual showstopper" as it expects its users to be in awe with the device's new window design that enables it to take the display right to the edge of an impressive wide viewing experience. As Samsung J1 boasts of true-to-life RGB color reproduction and superb contrast ratio, text, photos, and videos simply look amazing on its display.
Specs-wise, Samsung J1 operates on Exynos 3475 quad-core processor and is supported by a Mali-T720 GPU. As it is packed with 1 GB RAM, texting, social networking, and emailing are a breeze, much more that it also comes with 8 GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128 GB through its memory card slot.
The device also boasts of a 5-megapixel and 2-megapixel back and front camera, respectively, with the former equipped with an LED flash. It also comes with an autofocus and a novel feature that allows its owner to immortalize a moment before it is gone. With its expandable memory feature, it goes without saying that owners of Samsung J1 can take and store more photos in the device, much more that it comes with a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display that produces photos with a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels and only 245 PPI.
Samsung J1 also maintains other common features, such as Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and FM Radio. However, these features may not really be fully appreciated due to the device's 2,050 mAh battery, which does not only last long but also takes time to charge.
