Samsung Galaxy S6 Release News: Company Launches Cryptic Teaser Video for New Device
Samsung has just released a teaser video for latest flagship phone, the Galaxy S6, showing an all-metal design and curved sides.
Korean multinational Samsung recently beguiled users with its "The Next Galaxy" teaser video showing its newest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S6, and unlike its predominantly plastic-encased predecessors, it features an all-metal body and a curved design.
"Tomorrow, metals will flow," the video's unseen female narrator intones cryptically. "Beauty will be powerful. Borders will disappear. Reflections will be free. Colors will live. The future will be the present."
Hints in the video suggest the new model will be abandoning the usual design elements that have characterized previous Galaxy phones. Artistic visuals show what appears to be liquid metal (metals will flow) sliding along the new smartphone's edges, suggesting the device will feature extraordinarily thin bezels on its sides.
Samsung released the teaser video concurrently to a visual teaser of the S6 on its Instagram page, as well.
According to sources, the Galaxy 6 will feature Edge screen on each side (borders will disappear) and anti-reflexive coating (reflections will be free). The phone will be a smaller 5.3-inch AMOLED 4K Ultra HD display with its volume and power buttons on its uniformly curved sides.
Specs may include either a reworked Snapdragon 810 SoC or a 64-bit Exynos 7420 processor running on Android 5.0 Lollipop, 4GB of RAM, the new sensor chip from Broadcom, a high-res 20MP back camera, and a 5MP front camera.
Rumors are circulating Samsung will be giving users the option to uninstall unnecessary bloatware from the device without having to root the phone.
Price point has been pegged at €749 ($850) for the Galaxy 6's 32GB variant, €849 ($963) for 64 GB, and €949 ($1,076) for 128GB.
Users are also anticipating the release of Samsung's Exynos 7 and LTE, together with the Galaxy S6.
