Samsung to Release 7.7-inch Galaxy Tab on March 1
Samsung announced this week that it would be releasing a 7.7-inch version of the Galaxy Tab on March 1 through Verizon.
"Announced at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be available in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com starting March 1," read the press release.
The 7.7-inch Galaxy Tab is described by the company as a device that will bring new life to movies pictures and games along with providing an optimum touch screen experience.
"Customers can quickly access the Web, stream music and more at blazingly fast speeds using the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network combined with a 1.4 GHz dual-core processor and HTML 5 Web browser," continued Samsung in the press release.
Specifications on the tablet include a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, Android 3.2 Honeycomb, a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera with LED flash and the ability to record in 720p and playback in 1080p.
It also features a 2-megapixel front-shooter making video chatting possible, 16GB on internal memory and support for a 32GB microSD card.
It also proves to be a useful device for the business world.
"Business professionals can feel secure when working on their Tab 7.7 knowing that it is Samsung Approved for Enterprise (SAFE)," said Samsung.
SAFE is the company's stamp of approval on a device such at the new tablet to make it known that it is equipped with exclusive security features that deliver enterprise- friendly capabilities to help safeguard sensitive data and communications. This includes Mobile Device Management, on-device encryption and Virtual Private Network.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be available through Verizon Wireless starting at $499.99 with a new two-year agreement. Any customers purchasing the tablet need to subscribe to the carrier's 4G LTE mobile broadband package that starts at $30 monthly access for 2GB of data.
