Both teams are looking for a winning start to the season.
Starting their season at home, the San Diego Chargers host the Detroit Lions at Qualcomm Stadium in the opening week of the National Football League.
The match is on September 13, 2015 at 4:05 PM ET.
This is the first time the two teams will meet since 2011 and the Chargers will be looking to avenge that loss as Detroit were triumphant with a 38-10 score.

Furthermore, the Chargers are looking to start the season off right as they want to end their playoff drought after missing the post-season four of their last five seasons.
As for Detroit, they are looking to make it to the post-season for the second-consecutive time and a win away from home is the perfect way for them to move forward.
The Lions quarterback will be Matthew Stafford and he will have the luxury of having different capable targets on the offensive end as the team is anchored by Calvin "Megatron" Johnson and Golden Tate.
Along with the duo, tight end Eric Ebron is also expected to make a good impact for Detroit. After a disappointing season last year, he is set on a breakout year with the team.
In the running back position, Joique Bell is set to make his return since an Achilles surgery and that is another positive thing for Detroit. He may play limited minutes to shake off his rust which means Ameer Abdullah should also see enough minutes in the game.
For the Chargers, much of the offensive pressure will be on the shoulders of Philip Rivers. His passing ability is key and he should get ample time on his feet, giving also important pressure on his offensive line to keep the charging Lions at bay.
Keenan Allen is also looking to make amends after a poor 2014 season. After 14.7 yards per catch in his rookie season, he dropped off to 10.2 last year which needs to change if he wants to help the team.
Stevie Johnson and Jacoby Jones are new additions to the offensive side of the squad which should help the team.
