Sandra Bullock Birthday Today, Actress Turns 48
Sandra Bullock's birthday has arrived on Thursday this year and the actress is celebrating her 48th year.
A Golden Globe winner, Bullock has cemented herself as a veteran actress in Hollywood after starring in numerous films including Academy Award-winning "The Blind Side" and "Crash."
Her earlier films included "Demolition Man," "A Time to Kill," and "Love Potion Number 9," to name a few. Bullock often portrays quirky and lovable characters in countless romantic comedies, but she has also seen action and dramatic roles in more recent years.
Other notable films Bullock has starred in include "Speed," "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood," "Practical Magic," "The Proposal," and most recently, "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close."
Today, she is one of Hollywood's highest paid actresses, according to the Guinness Book of World Records, and rakes in $56 million a year.
While her acting career has earned accolades from around the world, Bullock has seen difficulties in her personal life. Her marriage to motorcycle mogul Jesse James lasted five years and ended in 2010 after he issued a public apology for his infidelity.
Good news arrived for the actress the same year when she announced her plans to adopt a baby. Louis Bardo Bullock arrived in January 2010 and began living with Bullock, who had adopted him as a single mother three months later.
In the past, Bullock has been romantically linked to actors Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Gosling. Although her love life is often scrutinized by the media, little is known about Bullock's personal relationships. She is often spotted out with her friend and former "The Proposal" co-star Ryan Reynolds, but has denied any romantic involvement.
Over the course of her celebrated acting career, Bullock has accumulated an impressive fan following. Many are wishing the actress a happy birthday on social media sites such as Twitter on Thursday.
"Happy birthday Ms. Sandra Bullock," posted Twitter user Lorna. "She looks so young! Unbelievable!"
Bullock is not the only celebrities celebrating their birthday on Thursday. Actress Kate Beckinsale and rock and roll star Mick Jagger were also born on July 26.
