Sarah Palin Documentaries Duel in March (VIDEO)
Dueling documentaries about Sarah Palin will be featured on HBO and ReelzChannel next month.
ReelzChannel just announced it had garnered the rights to air "The Undefeated" the same weekend as HBO's release of "Game Change." Both movies will cover the life of Palin and her sudden rise to fame during 2008's presidential election. Yet HBO's film takes a more liberal approach based on the book by journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin.
HBO, though, has issued a statement saying: "We hope that people will withhold any judgment until they have viewed the film. In the tradition of past HBO Films' release schedules, 'Game Change' is set to debut in the spring."
Palin also argued that the book's portrayal of her campaign was inaccurate immediately after its release in 2010. "The Governor's descriptions of these events are found in her book, 'Going Rogue.' Her descriptions are accurate. She was there. These reporters [Heilemann and Halperin] were not," said spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton.
ReelzChannel has described its film as chronicling "the rise from obscurity to national prominence of former Alaska Governor and Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin. Starting during the Exxon Valdez disaster of 1989 when Palin worked a commercial fishing boat...the documentary follows the struggles, the victories, and the setbacks during a controversial career."

Stan E. Hubbard, CEO of ReelzChannel issued a statement saying: "We're thrilled to have yet another opportunity to bring a big story to viewers. Sarah Palin is a charismatic figure who burst onto the political scene, and whatever your leanings, if you have any interest or curiosity in politics, social change, or the Sarah Palin phenomenon, this is a must-see movie."
"Game Change" features Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin and Ed Harris as John McCain, while "The Undefeated" uses actual footage from the campaign trail. Both will premiere the second weekend in March. "Game Change" will air on HBO on March 10, while "The Undefeated" will air on ReelzChannel on March 11.
