Sarah Palin 'Proud' of 'Straight-Shooter' Daughter Bristol After Family's Violent Brawl
Sarah Palin broke her silence on Friday, nearly two weeks after her family was reportedly embroiled in a violent brawl.
On Sept. 6, the former vice-presidential candidate and her family attended a party in Anchorage, Alaska to celebrate several birthdays, including Palin's own husband Todd's, however, upon their arrival violence ensued. Her oldest son Track, 25, and her daughter Bristol, 23, were accused of throwing punches and Todd reportedly sustained a bloody nose during the incident and the case is being investigated by police.
"I love my Bristol! My straight-shooter is one of the strongest young women you'll ever meet. I have to say this as a proud mama: right up there with their work ethic and heart for those less fortunate, my kids' defense of family makes my heart soar!" a proud Palin wrote in a Facebook post.
The Palin kids reportedly flipped out upon arrival after learning that a former boyfriend of their sister Willow was at the party. One alleged guest told ABC that the "Dancing With the Stars" alum began "punching [another man] in the face" repeatedly. "She was really hitting him."
At one point Bristol reportedly attacked the host of the party, however, Palin did not address these claims.
"As you can imagine, they and my extended family have experienced so many things (liberal media-driven) that may have crushed others without a strong foundation of faith, and I'm thankful for our friends' prayer shield that surrounds them, allowing faith to remain their anchor," she wrote. "Thank you, prayer warriors! I love you!"
Police have released limited details about the incident as the investigation is ongoing, but in a statement they confirmed that alcohol may have been a factor.
"Anchorage police responded to a report of a verbal and physical altercation taking place between multiple subjects," according to a statement released by police. "Alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the incident."
The party was held to honor the birthdays of former participants in the Iron Dog snowmobile race, including Todd. In the end, the Palin family was ordered to leave.
The incident comes three years after Bristol was embroiled in a bar fight and subsequently sued over the incident.
At the time the former reality TV star confronted bar patron Stephen Hanks at the Saddle Ranch bar in Los Angeles after he made derogatory remarks about her and her mother.
"Did you ride Levi like that?" Hanks yelled at Bristol as she rode a mechanical bull. "Your mother's a whore! Your mother's a f------ whore, she's the devil!"
Within seconds Bristol approached the man and the two had a heated exchange before she left the premises.
"Bristol Palin's conduct was outrageous," Hanks stated in his lawsuit.
