Sarah Palin Returning to Reality TV in New Series

Former Vice Presidential candidate and Fox contributor Sarah Palin is returning to reality TV with a new series on The Sportsman Channel in April. Palin will journey across America, focusing on "some of the most original, interesting – and sometimes inspiring – people, places, and pastimes connected to America's outdoors lifestyle."

"I'm excited to help shine a light on all the great American sportsmen and women in the country who live the outdoors lifestyle," Palin said in an official statement. "Sportsman Channel is the leader in their industry and I am thrilled to be partnering with them on this show."

Palin is no stranger to reality TV; her first series, "Sarah Palin's Alaska" aired on TLC and focused on her family life in Alaska. While the show started out strong, viewership dropped off and the show was canceled after eight episodes. She then moved on to the Fox News Channel, where she was a prominent contributor. Palin was released from her duties but then brought back to the channel. Now, though, with her new show, it remains to be seen how often she will appear on Fox.

For its part, The Sportsman Channel is thrilled to welcome Palin, an avid outdoorswoman, to its family. She is known to enjoy hunting, camping, fishing, and living a rugged lifestyle in the Alaskan frontier. Her first series showed some of that, and this new series will allow her to travel the country and speak and showcase the lives of those with similar interests.

"Governor Palin is one of America's most popular leaders, whose powerful love of country and passion for the great outdoors is inspiring to millions and millions of people," President Gavin Harvey said in a statement. "As a sportswoman, humanitarian, and patriot who has visited every corner of the USA, there is no one more qualified to host 'Amazing America' than Sarah Palin."

The new show, "Amazing America with Sarah Palin," will air weekly starting in April 2014.
